Saturday and Sunday Sept 4th and 5th 

 

6 hours Tango Crash Course Intensive

 

2pm - 5pm Sat and Sun.  Join Adam and Ciko for a 2 day Beginner Tango crash course. Saturday will introduce you to basic patterns and techniques.  Before you have the opportunity to lose all that nifty new information, you will be able to review  the Saturday information while adding on new patterns and techniques on Sunday.  Includes thatSat night's party!!

Saturday September 11th 

 

FAST LINDY and AERIALS  with Mike and Sarah

1pm - 2:45pm: Fast Lindy Workshop - "Super Savoy Style Sequence"

This workshop will teach a Savoy stylefast lindy sequence inspired by some of Frankie Manning's classic moves.  Through the sequence, we will work on fast lindy technique, footwork and some flashy moves including the "Savoy Style Tuck Turn", the "Reset", "Frankiee's Leaping Turn" and "The Tango".  We will also teach you how to speed up this sequence to the fastest music around.

*Some familiarity with basic 8-count footwork is recommended.

3pm-4:30pm:Aerials Workshop-"Charleston Lift" and "The Swing Set"

Learn the high flyin' "Charleston Lift" aerial and our flashy "Swing Set" trick/dip.  We will teach you how to safely execute these moves and make them look good!

* a partner is recommended for this workshop, but not required.

* comfortable, loose fitting clothing is recommended and we suggest that ladies wear pants/shorts instead of dresses/skirts

$45 in advance (before Saturday), $55 at the door, $30 for part 1 only

Swingout Master Class with Laura and Heather

4:00 - 6:30 

Want to add some spice to your swingout but don't know where to start?  Laura and Heather, queens of the swingout, will start off the class by setting a base-lineswingout from which to play. Then, whether you lead or follow, you will not only learn six footwork variations on the swingout, you'll also develop the tools with which to create new ones as you're listening to the music and dancing with your partner.  Special focus will be on keeping connection quiet while your feet are flying.

Pre-Req: Students must be very familiar withthe basic swingout prior to the class.

Salsa Crash Course (Classic on1) with Ricardo & Zulma 

2:00 - 3:00  Basic Shine Pattern - Learn the basic patterns and turns sans apartner
3:00 - 4:00  Basic lead and follow techniques - learn how to put patterns together
4:00 - 5:00  Putting it all together - A simple routine to help you learn how to put patterns together for a pleasurable social dance experience
